Kamil Ahmad
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Kamil Ahmad has been involved in Toronto’s Muslim community, as an Imam, teacher, and councillor at Islamic centres and schools.Studies: A Bachelor's degree from the faculty of Shari'ah in 2009, from the Islamic University Of Madinah. A post-graduate diploma in the faculty of Da'wah & Usul-ud-Din. A Master’s degree in 'Aqidah & Contemporary Ideologies from Qassim University.Experience: Lectured in and appeared on a number of satellite channels such as Peace TV. Has been teaching for the Islamic Online University since 2010 and currently serves as assistant professor for the MAIS program.

Numan Attique
Sheikh Numan Attique memorized the Qur'an at the age of 13 and continued to study the sciences of the Sharia for approximately a decade in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is currently the imam of the Muslim Association of Hamilton.Experience: He graduated from a 5 year Dawah and Sharia program in Riyadh from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. He also has an undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph.Studies: Numan is currently pursuing a 10+ year specialization in Ilm Al-Aqeedah from Makkah under the supervision of Dr. Sultan Alumayri, a well-known Theologian.

Sheikh Samatar Mahdi is a recent graduate from the Islamic University of Madinah. Mahdi currently resides in Toronto, Canada where he is active in the community giving classes and Khutbahs in Masjid Khalid Bin Al-Walid.Studies: He studied there from 2014-2021. He graduated from the faculty of Shariah in which he studied many different sciences such as, Aqeedah, Fiqh, Usool al-fiqh, hadith, and many more.

Ali Usman
Experience: Ali Usman is an Outreach Specialist at the Islamic Education & Research Academy with 7 years of experience. He is a dedicated Trainer and Daee, having conducted over 120 training sessions, sharing the intelligent and compassionate message of Islam.Studies: Ali's profound understanding of the faith comes from completing Islamic Studies under the guidance of scholars from Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, India, and Madinah Al-Munawwarah.

Adnan Rashid
Ustadh Adnan Rashid is a historian & international lecturer from London. He specializes in Muslim history and Islamic numismatics.Studies: Rashid has attained a number of ijazas in hadith sciences from reputable hadith authorities. He attained his BA with honours in history from Birkbeck College, University of London. He completed his Master's in history from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.Experience: Adnan is a peer-reviewed scholar and his research has been published by The Royal Asiatic Society. He has taught seerah, tafseer, hadith and history through social media, TV and other platforms.

Taimiyyah Zubair
Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair is an established teacher with a focus on Qur’an. She is currently an instructor at Al Huda Institute and Al Maghrib Institute, and teaching classes within the GTA and internationally.Experience: Translation & Tafseer of the Qur'an. She completed and taught word-for-word translations, along with brief and detailed tafaseer.Studies: She pursued intensive Islamic studies under her parents and scholars, Dr. Idrees Zubair and Dr. Farhat Hashmi (founders of Al Huda International).

Hamza Tzortzis
Hamza Tzortzis is a British writer, philosopher, public speaker, and researcher on Islam. He is the founder and CEO of Sapience Institute.Experience: CEO of iERA from April 2017 to February 2020, where he and his team developed sector-leading robust systems, processes and procedures. Author of the best-selling book: "The Divine Reality: God, Islam and The Mirage of Atheism", translated into over 10 languages.Studies: He has an MRes, MA and a PgCert in Philosophy from the University of London and is currently pursuing his PhD on the Qur’ān and its verses pertaining to nature. Hamza has studied Islamic Thought and Theology under qualified scholars.

Are there any overnight accommodations?
Don't want to commute all weekend? With the help of the Waterloo Masjid, we will inShaAllah be hosting both brothers' and sisters' qiyam nights for anyone who would like to attend. A registration form will come out soon. Reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
Can I attend if I'm not part of my school's MSA?
Of course! We have something for everyone, and we encourage everyone to attend — MSA students, non-MSA students, graduates, family members, and friends alike!
Can I compete if I'm in high school?
Yes, all contests are open to high school students!
What if I just want to attend a portion of the conference and not the whole thing?
No problem! Feel free to attend whatever you’re interested in.
